Counseling

The School Counselors mission is to help students focus on academic, personal/social and career development so they not only achieve success in school, but are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as a responsible member of society.

The School Counseling Program helps build the foundation for life-long learning by assisting students in developing self-respect, awareness of others along with a positive school climate that cultivates acceptance, empathy, and perseverance. School counselors also act as a liaison between staff, parents and students.

How We Deliver

We follow the Connecticut Comprehensive School Counseling Model which is proactive and preventative in its focus.  School counselors work with all students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th. This is done through a variety of ways such as: school wide activities, classroom instruction, small group, and individual counseling. As counselors, our goal is to provide, serve, develop and assist our students to help them meet success.
